How do I change or update my Minecraft server version?

Changing or updating your Minecraft server version is a quick job in the client area. There are two routes — the one-click Software page for anything in the catalog, and a manual JAR upload for anything that isn't.

Automatic (recommended)

1. Open your server and click the Version chip at the top of the console to open the Software page.
2. Pick the software and Minecraft version (and build).
3. Install — your world is kept; files the new software replaces are moved to a _previous folder.
4. When it finishes, go to Console and press Start.

Custom JAR

If the version you want isn't listed:

1. Open the Files manager.
2. Upload your .jar.
3. Rename it to exactly server.jar.
4. Press Start from the Console.

Warning: Make a backup first with Back up now on the Backups page — especially before a downgrade, which can break a world.
