Where do I see and download my backups?

Open your server → Backups in the client area: it lists every backup available for your server, and you can browse, restore or download them there. Keeping an extra off-machine copy is excellent protection too.

How it works

Every server is backed up automatically twice a day, and Back up now adds a manual backup whenever you want one (the newest 3 manual backups are kept). Downloads come as a .tar.gz, up to 2 GB. Recent backups are free to restore and download within your plan's window (Supreme and most plans: the last 3 days; Ultimate: the last 7 days; Budget: none unless you chose a Backups option) — or longer if you chose a longer Backups option when ordering (e.g. 7 or 14 days), which you can change later with Change plan. Older backups are $3 each to unlock, which lets you restore or download that backup for 7 days. Browsing is free, and manual backups are always free to restore and download. If your server has backups from the old panel, they show under "Older panel backups".

How to keep your backups

1. Open your server → Backups to see every backup available for it.
2. Browse a backup, restore it (into a new folder, over the current files, or the whole server), or download it and store it on your own PC or cloud.
3. If something goes wrong, message the team and we'll help.

Note: Backups are kept for 30 days after a server is deleted. You can also copy your files yourself via Files or SFTP as extra off-machine protection.

Frequently asked questions

Can I access backups via SFTP? Not directly — download them from the Backups page. SFTP gives you your server's current files, which you can copy down as an extra backup.

What about automated backups? They run twice a day, at 00:00 and 12:00 UTC by default; you can pick your own two times under Backup times on the Backups page.
